I'm considering adding a turtle or tortoise to my "zoo". I babysat a Russian Tortoise a couple of times last year and loved the little guy. But I also understand that Chinese Box Turtles are pretty good-natured and hardy.
Can anyone fill me in on either in a practical, day-to-day way, and also, is there another type of tortoise I should be looking at? The requirements are:
1. must be hardy
2. must be non-aquatic
3. shouldn't be shy or easily stressed (I do presentations)
4. should need a fairly arid environment (I can do desert and arid, but don't have the energy for something subtropical!)
5. shouldn't get too big (star tortoise is too big!)
Thanks!
