It has a row of three bumps on its' back and has a brown and beige colored under side that is not "hinged" like the other tortoises I have seen around here. It also has a long tail. The only kind of tortoise I could find any info on for our area is the Gopher Tortoise and I don't think this is one. Any advice & info would be appreciated.

Baby boxies dont develope the 'hinge' until they are a year or two old... tho it could be something similar. Look through the posts in the Box Turtle Forum for basic care (it works for all similar turtles too) Here's a few websites for more on box turtles:
