I suggest leave it alone. If it is a strong and healthy animal it will hatch and survive. Otherwise it was not ment to be. You can very lightly mist it though.

I have good news....this morning the baby tortoise started to peep. The baby pocked a whole already, I can see him inside, he is light brown in color. I hope that he is able to make it out all on his / her own.
