Also I would move the pen .As a gardener I am very well aquanted with the main garden insecticides ( Seven Dust , Malethion (sp? ) and Diazinon ) all of which can harm any pet and you if care is not taken .

I stopped useing this stuff in the early 80's in favour of organic methods and will not go back to useing them ever again . Also do anyone near your house use herbacides ? Some who use incectacides also tend to use that to .
