Hi all. I have had some success breeding pancake tortoises. But I am baffled with this one egg. I know its fertile, and it has been incubating for 6 months now, at a rather low temp of 82 degrees. I know its fertile because I have been tracking the development of the embrio. Well, its been 6 months, and the baby hasn't peeped yet, this morning one side of the egg changed color, before the whole egg was solid white, but now there is a patch that looks "wet" or "oily". I did not drop any water or oil into the incubator. Does anyone have any idea?
For pancake tortoise keepers who incubate eggs....at what temperature do you incubate? and also, at what humidity??
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Mike
