I got this via e-mail and thought I would share it. Annie Lancaster needs help rescuing a large group of torts. Thought maybe some of you could help. I plan to send some supplies.

Hello to all,

We have a *VERY* large group of animals incoming who are all critically
ill with highly contagious illness, all are tortoises.

We are in desperate need of the following: (items which are disposable
must be destroyed immediately after use to prevent further disease
transmission)

*Syringes:
1 cc
10cc
20cc
30cc
60cc

*Needles
20g
25 to 27g
Butterfly catheters

*Fluids:
Lactated Ringers Solution (LOTS!!!!!)
Sterile Saline For Injection (0.9%)
Sterile Water for Injection
Stomach (feeding)Tubes, all sizes

*Chlorhexidine Solution:
2 gallons, generic is FINE, it does NOT have to be Nolvasan Brand!

*Drapes-Paper-plastic bottom lined.

*Sterile BD Test Tubes Plastic or glass
Green Top
Red Top PLAIN
Lavender Top
Red & Grey Top
Microtainer Tubes
Cryotubes, small
Microscope Slides, Frosted one end

GLASS microscope slide covers

Immersion oil (for Microscopic analysis)

Micro-centrifuge (Bench top) (ours died!) needed to spin down samples
for laboratory analysis. If you can help with this please contact me
directly, there are some excellent bargains on e-Bay. If we have to
resort to an outside lab for this service, the cost will be
astronomical.

*Other items/Meds/lab

Heparin-1 bottle, used to keep blood from coagulating in hypodermic
needles while samples are being drawn.
Baytril (Enrofloxacin) Injectible only
Panacur Paste (OR "Safeguard" same med, different label)
Latex gloves
Disposable masks
Vet wrap...all widths

*Prayers and an endless supply of GNC vitamins, snickers bars and
coca-cola to keep Annie and volunteers going. :-)
