If I could get crushed coral at a reasonable price I would use the stuff myself. As I said the most successful breeders of this species have been using the crushed oyster shell from day one. Going on 10 years now. Also keep in mind that the crushed oyster shell used is purchased as a commercial chicken additive. That is chickens are fed this stuff for the calciuim content. If anyone is uncomfortable using this stuff then don't use it. If someone else wants to use it I don't see anything wrong with it.
