I knew about the size, outside enclosures, etc., and after talking to my family (I'm currently in college for biology), I've decided to find a smaller species that I like just as much. This would be my first tortoise (but deffinately not my first herp), so I don't want to screw up. I'm looking for a captive bred, not too expensive, preferable tropical tortoise. The only other turtle I currently own is 1 asian leaf turtle, but I also have arrow frogs, a female veiled chameleon, some insects and a pair of tentacled snakes. What about a redfoot? Pancake? I'm just looking at one who doesn't hibernate because I have no hibernated an animal before and I'm going to try this winter, probably with garters or tiger salamanders. Thanks.
