If the calcium D3 supplement is so important for healthy growth why can't a keeper mix the correct dosage with a little water put it into a syringe (no needle) and orally give the tortoise the supplement say once a month or every three months? That way you know that he/she is getting the supplement, and you are not wasting any on uneaten food. I realize that giving a tortoise forced oral substances is difficult, but would the benefit out weigh the difficulty? This was just something I was thinking about. Comments are welcome. Just brainstorming.
