so I'm looking through the forum. In NC there are
no turtles/torts for sale at these shows, but I
like to go look around and get turtle decorations.
My sulcata just turned 2 and is approx 8 inches
and 5 pounds - haven't weighed him this week he's
seeming heavier to me (I think I need to get another
scale anyways this one's going to max out now).
On this forum there are some that are 20-25 pounds
at 3-5 years old, others are smaller. Seems
really to vary, it's like trying to say at what
age a baby will walk. Mine did at 8 1/2 months old
but some kids won't take a step till they're almost
1 1/2 years old. I'm not going to say anything is
specific, because it's different for everyone apparently.
Things that could factor in are food, humidity,
enclosure size or lack of it, lighting, genetics,
or sex of the animal.
