Hi,
I am in MA, too. I don't have any suggestions as to species, but I can suggest a couple of good places in MA to acquire the little guys.
-Boston Tropical Fish & Reptile in Cambridge.
-New Zoo in Leominster.
Nice people who know their stuff. (:
Peace,
~Christine
: Hi all,
: Many of you have seen my post a few back about Egyptian tortoises.... but I'm also open to other options
: Basically I'd like to get a small tortoise, where the adult size is under 10"
: I think this includes: Greek, Hermans, Russian, Egyptian... any I am missing?
: I live in Massachusetts, so we have cold winters, warm sometimes hot and humid summers, but moderate weather otherwise.
: Which of these small guys would be best in this climate, as well as with other factors... feeding, personality, general care.
: Any recommendations or thoughts would be great. I'm planning on getting a hatchling or juvenile, so adult size wouldnt be an issue as of yet, but I dont want to just have to get rid of it after a few years, I want one I will keep as an adult. So far I know of local sources for hermans and egyptian, but I'm sure the other 2 wouldnt be too difficult to find.
: Thanks
