It's called Melamine (that white board)(spelling could be off) It's great if the surface is not broken.
Another option is Polyurithane. I use 10 to 15 coats on the inside of the enclosure and about 3 coats outside. Sounds like alot but can be applied in 3 or 4 days. You can put on 4 to 5 coats a day. The other option is Marine epoxy but it is tough to appy. It will last for ever though and is 100% waterproof.

: Hello all,
: I need some info. on safe water sealants for wood (if any). I am building a huge indoor enclosure for my redfoot, almost winter:) Since I have a humidity system for him, I figured I may have some probs. w/ the wood. Have any of you built indoor enclosure for high humidity torts, not out of plexiglass. What type of wood did you use and what did you do to protect the wood. Does anyone use anything to protect thier wood outdoors? I realize I need to get untreated woods, but it seems the wood would need some protection from the elements.
: So far, I am lining the bottom with tile, so I clean it easly during bedding changes. This leaves the walls plain wood.
: Any Suggestions,
: Bric
