hiya, i am preparing to bring a star tortoise into my apartment here in Prince George's County, Maryland (just outside of DC) i don't have air conditioning, only fans . my question is, does the relative humidity (which is about 87% right now) drop in the winter? i experience dry skin and chapped lips from november to spring, but i can't really attribute that to decreased humidity with any certainty. my roommate and myself have a dehumidifier that we use on occasion, but the window is constantly open, and the door is usually open to permit a decent airflow from the window fan. is this humidity dangerous to the health of the tortoise? are there any steps i can take to reduce the moisture in the air? or is it okay, as long as the air's fresh. the enclosure is a 30 by 18 by 10 sweater box. if anyone can point me in a direction where i might further research this, i thank you for your help. thanks for your time
