Hi Marlene,

Glad to hear you are doing this the right way, researching first, purchasing later! Well, Pancake tortoises are very difficult to find and they are NOT for beginner keepers. Neither are Kleinmanni (Egyptian) tortoises. Where you are located will play a big part in your decision as well, mainly your climate and temperatures outside during winter and summer. Tell us a bit more (or feel free to e-mail me privately) and I'll give you much more info and links to browse.
