I'm in the DFW metro area. Three-toed's are very very common here (tx), especially in the forest and prairie areas. Mine are all 3-toeds. I don't have any easterns and have never seen any that I know of. The pet shops around here don't sell anything but torts. I could probably find some wild caught in east texas at some bait shops though.....I'd just prefer to get a really healthy one that has either been captive a long, long time or a captive bred adult.
