Hi Tort people!
I just recently aquired a tiny little african sulcata, soooooooo, I came here to find out what all you experts already know about these sweeties. Shelldyn is only palm-sized right now, but he (she)'s a total sweetheart. I am feeding him along the lines of what I used to feed my green iggys, (back when I had green iggys): Turnip greens, collard greens, chopped up squash and carrots. Stuff with lots of calcium. He gets to go out in the sun nearly ever afternoon, too. I have heard that you should soak these guys 2 or 3 times a week. Do you soak them to poop them, like the igs, or is it to hydrate them, if you don't see them drinking from their water bowls? I was just wondering if I am letting Shelldyn soak long enough, cuz he doesn't seem to poop as much as I think he should. I have sprinkled water on his salad, just as a precaution, cuz I don't want him to get dehydrated. (Or constipated) :%
Anyway...any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am new to the tortoise world, and want to make sure I don't make any fatal mistakes.....
Thanks in advance,
Lorry
