Hi all,
I have a sulcata and 2 leopard torts that will be too large to come into the house for the winter. (about 5-7 pounds each) As they don't hibernate, I'm looking for suitable winter quarters. They live in a 8x18 pen and have a large 2-piece dog house to sleep in. During the winter it is usually in the 50's, sometimes 40's at night. We don't get much rain. They go out on most winter days for just a few hours. I was thinking of installing a light inside the top of the dog house and using a low watt red bulb. I think that will give off just enough heat to keep them happy. I want to experiment now and get it right before they actually need it. How would you handle this? I would like any suggestions or thoughts on the subject. I am a little nervous about them being out this winter, but I think it's time. Please advise. thanks, Zab
