are you advocating the miltary style of " if someone makes a mistake the whole platoon gets punished " ?? Sorry but I am not in the milatary
.And I will not be punished for the actions of others . And tell me do you support the New York exotic ban ? What of all the animals that would get siezed as a result if the law passes ? They will be put to sleep . Many of these animals would be from responsable herpers that care for and love thier herps .

I do not support such treatment of animals as you discribe . But alot of these laws where born out of parinoia and fear without consulting theose of us in the herping comunity . It angers me no end about the negative look herping has gotten over the years . Herp welfare must be addressed and perhaps if such states as New York had addressed this issue long ago instead of wanting to ban banning the whole hobby many states would see lees abuse to our beloved reptile and amphibian friends .

: Try out the other side's shoes for a second. How many wildcaught animals die each year due to importation? How many more die, because they end up in the care of novices due to the cheap prices of imports compared to c.b. animals? Thats alot of animals. Of the animals that due live, how many are maintained in adequate enclosures, with the proper food, humidity, temps, etc. ? Giuliani is not all that wrong, large boids, crocidillians, large turtle and tortoise, iguanas so on and so forth, do not belong in NYC. It is not fair to the animals. When I lived in NJ, a NY pet store had Aldabras, Sulcatas, and Yellowfoots offered for sale. Why would anyone keep such a large animal in that area? It just is not fair. Don't get me wrong, there is alot of good people and accomplishments in this hobby, but for everyone, there is a pet store with 10 ball pythons in a 10 gallon tank. Maybe we (herpers in general) will finally get screwed for all the stupid crap we have done. I guess what goes around comes around. Some of us do keep our animals very well, we treat them like our kids, unfortunately most don't. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to us all. Before anyone decides to blast me for my comments, check out one of the many pet stores in my area. Most of the reptiles are kept in utter filth. Email me for names and addresses. Is our hobby defendable?
