Breeding Tortoises

Hello,

I'm interested in starting a breeding colony of torts. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what species would do well in the Bay Area, CA (specifically San Jose)? I would be able to build them an outdoor enclosure on a slope in my backyard facing west. I could make it up to about 4 ft. by 50 ft. The slope is around 45 degrees. Thanks for any suggestions.
