:White and dry around the scutes is new growth. My guys enjoy a nice lite scratch on their rear scutes, they do a little shimmy dance.

: She has plenty of shade now,but not a lot before we got her.We have only had her for about a month.Maybe it won't dry out any more than it has.She has a little pyramiding and it looks white and dry sometimes between the sections on the shell.Thanks
