I can respect other methods of tortoise keeping, but
I provide mine with water all the time, his pen
is big enough and his indoor enclosure is large
enough that this is not a problem. The bowl is
clean and the water fresh. Sometimes mine will go
sit in it when it's hot, then go off and bask some,
then go head for some shade. In the morning my
tortoise will sometimes wake up, bask a bit and
head for his water bowl and drink a LOT.
I personally can't stand to see something thirsty and
not have water, I have 4 bird baths I keep full
of fresh cool water all day. My tarantulas have
water bowls also, I just like giving things a choice.
You can't predict when they will be thirsty.
Some people keep thier animals without water,
others don't. I think ultimately you have to
decide because there are different opinions.
