Primarily, yes. A male 'whitei' is approximately 270 mm in length, and weighs circa 3.5/4.5 Kg. A female 'nabeulensis' typically measures 150mm in length and weighs approximately 750g. There are also behavioural differences.

The taxonomic material relating to 'Furculachelys' was reviewed by Indraneil Das.
May I suggest however, that by far the best way to form any kind of conclusion about these animals is to study a series of photographs? I do have these available and I am always very willing to share them with serious researchers. Indeed, we also make genetic and osteological material available to those who require it. A few photographs may be seen on the ETI CD-ROM 'Turtles of the World', but many hundreds more are available in addition.
