There are probably at least 12 full species within the Testudo complex. By no means all of these have been formally described. One of the best known, but undescribed forms, are the Libyan 'graeca'. These are utterly different, both morphologically and genetically from Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian tortoises.
Then... there are multiple forms (at least subspecies) within the T. ibera group.
