A. your cage is too small to support basic activity, the tortoise needs for good muscle tone and general health.
B. cut out the monkey biscuit altogether, the protein in it, is what makes the tort grow faster, however the end result is pyramiding, I fell for this with tort chow a few years ago, the result a very pyramided tortoise.
C. diet wise feed as much graze as possible, do you have a lawn or can you plant a tub with grasses, grocery store wise use chicory, escarole, endive, radichio, okra, and a few green leafy lettuces. If possible try oputina cactus, spineless works best.
D. allow your torts to exercise alot, in the wild they would be traveling miles each day.
