: I HAVE 3RED FOOTS AND THEY ALL HAVE SLIGHT TEARY EYES FROM TIME TO TIME THE BREEDER SAID THAT THIS IS NATURAL AND ITS A GOOD SIGN OF HUMIDITY IS HE RIGHT OR WRONG ??? THANKS MIKE
Mike,
I have two redfoots, and their eyes used to do the same thing. I learned (from the help of this forum) that it was most likely a humidity problem. Actually it was caused by not enough humidity. Redfoots require a somewhat humid environment. I got it so their enclosures were lot more humid and the teary eyes went away in a matter of about a week. Depending on what type of an enclosure you have them in, you might try misting thier cage every chance you get during the day, or for a large enclosure a humidifier works well. Not sure if this is will help, but it is worth a try. Good luck.
