Russians especially adults would not be remotely comfortable in a 20 gallon tank. The animals you saw once roamed an extremely large area, now they are jailed in crowded unsanitary conditions. The people who own and operate the big retail stores should be prosecuted for animal abuse. Everyone I have been to has had some dead or dying reptile in the store. If you want a Russian look into a c.b. baby. I have seen them for as little as $75, a small price to pay for a happy healthy pet.
