I recently bought a 2 inch African Spur Thigh. I live in a cold climate, so he's in a 20 gallon long tank for now with alfalfa pellets for substrate and alfalfa hay scattered around on the floor of the tank. He has an under tank heater, UVB flourescent light, and a 40 watt blue reptile heat bulb. The temp under the bulb is about 88 F and the other end of the tank is around 80 F. The lights are on for 12 hours a day and he gets soaked every other day for about 15 minutes. I feed him a mix of tortoise pelleted food, carrot, squash, romain lettuce, dandelion greens, and parsley once a day. He has a large branch that he sort of burrows under and he spends almost all of his time there, only coming out to eat. I've had him almost two weeks, but he has only gone to the bathroom maybe three times as far as I can tell. I'm just wondering if everything I'm doing is okay and if there's anything I could be doing better. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want the little guy to be happy and healthy!
