Sarah, Star tortoises are very shy by nature. They are not easy tortoises. For starters you need to keep them warm to hot. 75 F at the coolest and 100+ F at the hottest end. That is you need to provide a range. Make sure there is water available at all times. If the conditions are acceptable the runny noses should stop if it is environmental. (one day) If they are sick they will not respond to this and then you will need to get them to a vet asap. These guys are delicate in my opinion.
