One of the big reasons on housing more females to male ratio is to diminishing and spread the attention of the male\s to many other specimens, because they become very aggressive when try convincing and stimulating their sexual counterpart to concede their favours. A male housed with a singular female start his dance following her all day long, he begin with biting her forelegs repetetely causing stop feeding for very prolonged time ,and he could brutal flipp her upsidedown unless distracted by other "victims\potential-fiancè".So why housing more females to male is better unless you could separate them and check back often.
Hope this may help.
