: Try pushing up on the underside of their neck right below the chin do any bubbles come out? Are they still eating and acting normal? What kind of bedding are they on?

: : I have a dish in one corner but they never go in it. I've tried tapping them on there nose but they won't withdraw back into there shell quickly. They just pull back slowly.
Nope no bubbles. Only one of them is not eating much. She's pretty picky at times. She often goes a week or so without eating too much, then all of a sudden one day she starts eating a lot again. So I can never really tell if something is actually wrong. I used alfalfa pellets up until last week. It was getting dirty too quickly so I have switched to newspapers.
I saw bubbles coming out of my star tortoise's nose a couple of weeks ago but she is really active and eating well. I haven't seen any bubbles since. She is in the same room with my elongates, but in a tank about 6' away. Could this be a problem?
