: I came back to find this thread after a visit to the local Petco. I hope its not too far down for anyone to see. They've got an enclosure marked "Russian tortoises." It contains a couple of animals that I recognize as T. horsfields. They're small and they have the typical round (when viewed from above) carapace and are low-flattened rather than high-domed. It also contains two much larger animals. These have high-domed shells like greeks. Their coloration, though pet-shop scuffed, seems to be more in line with a mediterranean species. I wondered if they are actually "Russians" or just mislabled. In any event, Petco's got them on sale for $35 US.
