Hi Lisa.
Sounds like you're doing very well with him.
They do so much better outdoors, they really perk up with room to roam about, sun/shade and shelter.
Just make sure that temporary shelter is escape proof.
That he can't climb over the walls, or dig under!
Diet sounds like you're on the right track, you can add in edible flowers like hibiscus and a little grated carrot or yellow squash.
Dandelions both the leaves and flowers are a good food.
The salad mix sounds like one of the better ones .
It doesn't contain iceburg lettuce or spinach, which is good, as neither are recommended as part of a tort's diet.
When you build his enclosure you can plant some edible landscaping in their for him too.
Overall sounds like he's found himself a nice/caring home.Don't forget the vet visit though, just to be sure that he's not suffering from a parasite infestation.
