There is no replacement for the sun. Natural sunlight is best but cannot be filtered through window glass either. Direct sunlight is the best, if weather permits. However, ActiveUV bulbs are good...I just had a ton of problems with mine blowing out every 2 months and replacements, although they came with no problems, were frequently delayed by lack of inventory. If I had it to do over again, I don't know if I would go with the ActiveUV because of that reason...
