Hi, I went to the "suspect" pet store today. I observed a clean store. All the reptile cages had UVB lighting and heat emitters. No hot rocks anywhere in cages. All reptiles had fresh crickets and or veggies. They all had water. All tanks were clean, no feces or shed skins laying around. There was NO turtles for sale. I spoke with a young girl telling her I needed a turtle for my sons b-day tomorrow. She told me they didn't have any.I acted very disappointed and told her I was told by a friend that they had 2 the other day. She said yea but they are gone. She DIDN'T say sold. She said she could ask the manager when they were getting more in. He came out of the back and I told him my b-day delima and he said they would be getting more on Thur. I said I wished I'd known that because I drove an hour to get there. He was very apoligetic and said to try later in the week. I then left. The only thing I noticed wrong there was the temps in the lizard and gecko cages seemed kinda hot to me. But I don't keep these so I'm not sure. The tems were in the 90's. I didn't see any turtles or get the feeling they were lying to me. So, now what? Dawn
: Hmm sounds like greed. Do not buy them ever, in fact why shop there at all. Shop somewhere else. Thats the only way the animal wins. A purchase should not be considered a rescue regardless of circumstance.
