Mike
All three animals you listed are quite shy. Leopards grow to large sizes. They would require large indoor accomodations in the fall and winter, is that reasonable? Stars are beautiful tortoises, however they are considered more of an advanced tortoise because they have specific needs. They do not get too big, but will still require indoor accomodations during cool weather. Spiders are interesting animals, I am still not sure if mine are friendly or just plain stupid. They do pretty well inside, you will also have to keep them inside during the colder months. I am actually having the reverse problem. It is too hot outside for mine. Make sure you get a hold of a healthy pair. I tried to get mine pretty quickly after they came in to the country. They are not coming in anymore, therefore the stock you will be looking at, has been sitting around for awhile, probably not in the best of conditions. Other tortoises to consider are Russians and Burmese Mountain. Both of these are under pressure in the wild from over collecting. Check out tortoisetrust.org for some caresheets and read up on which ever animal you choose. If you decide to go with leopards talk to EJ he is on this forum. He could tell you more about them than I ever could.

Goodluck
