The person who reported this to the turtle homes list serv did just that Karl
and the manager said he was not allowed . At this point in time I think media attention and legal intervention is the only way they can be rescued. Medina is near Akron Ohio and I know there is a collage there . Perhaps getting them involved too will help getting these poor boxies rescued .

: I am not saying that you should offer to pay full price but look at it from their point of view.
: If the turtles die, they can write them off as a loss and they are not out the full amount that they paid for them. Let's face it, large chain pet shops are not in business because they love animals, they are in it for the profit line.
: I would say that if you offer them, say, a quarter of what they were asking for the turtles, they might be happy just to get rid of them and you. Otherwise, they might be viewing you as just somebody who wants to get something for nothing.
