As David stated, they come from different localities (Africa and S. America, respectively).
Not only is there a danger of cross contamination of pathogens, these species have vastly different environmental needs. Leopards require dry conditions, and redfoots (as well as yellowfoots) need a substantial amount of humidity!
: can a leopard tortoise and a redfoot or yellowfoot tortoise live in the same tank together?
