: Last month while out hunting rattlesnakes (my passion), I came across a wonderful colony of Gopher Tortoises (different from post below). I took my wife out to see them and this fellow obliged us by posing for a picture. The next week, when we went back to visit, the area had been bulldozed, presumably to clear the area for a housing developement. I am so happy (HEAVY SARCASM) that these beautiful tortoises are protected from unscrupulous herp lovers like myself and my wife. It is a shame that bulldozers apparently fall into the "natural predation" category!
