Hi Kevin. Honestly I do not have the money for a vet...and I have tried to adopt him out locally. To be completely honest I wrote a bad check just to get the little guy out of that place. I just don't want him to die........and I really don't have the means to care for him myself. I was thinking about keeping him, but as you have said he needs a vet and I am very low on funds. Plus I have no idea how to care for him. I only know what I have read from this forum. Someone please help.

: : Hi. I have an African Spur Tortoise and am looking for anyone interested in adopting him. He has not been well since we bought him. I purchased him from a pet shop a few months ago because I realized the people were not taking proper care of him and I wanted to get him out of there. So I paid the hefty sum of $145.00 just to save this poor tort. Well, he never wants to eat and I can tell he isn't well because his eyes are barely open and his shell is a little soft near the edges. They could not give me his age or sex, but I assume it is a baby. (Luckily this pet shop has since gone out of business!) He is only about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide. I am not looking at him as I post so I am not really sure. I just want to find him a good home. Anyone wishing to adopt him and help him recooperate please contact me. I am in Western North Carolina. I cannot afford to pay to ship him, so anyone willing to adopt him would also need to pay the shipping. I estimate it to be about $25.00 for overnight through UPS. Please contact me at Amanda_31907@msn.com. Thank you.
