: These are the same large torts that are found in Florida although this particular colony is in southeastern Georgia. Most of the colonies that we have found over the years have been bulldozed so that the land could be developed. It is very frustrating since the animals are protected from people who would take care of them but not from people who would destroy them. It was nice to find a colony that will not be threatened by developement.
