I'm in San Diego. A heated enclosure in the winter is highly recomended. It is easier to control. With a burrow you really don't know how warm it gets in there. I know some people get away with it but it hasn't worked for me. Like I said, a heated enclosure is the way to go and you need to check on them daily so you are sure they are in the house at night. I recomend this even in the summer.
