Thank you for your answer. My class of 4-year olds is serously studying turtles. The question about gummy bears is not one of my students. We are generating questions and then trying to research them. Unfortunately 4-year old questions are not very sophisticated but we do take our studies seriously. I am associated with the lab school at UCLA.: Turtles and tortoises can become ill for a number of reasons. Usually it is either a disease or illness that spreads from individual to individual. Also, they can become ill from being kept and housed improperly, which is a big cause of illness. For instance, if you keep a subtropical species of turtle or tortoise at temperatures that are too low, they can become sick. Hope this helps! Are you doing a school project with turtles and tortoises? If so, where are you located???
