: : I live in Portland OR, and here nasturtiums grow almost like weeds. It seems like every house has them. Most of the time I see them growing in full sun, they seem to grow equally well on any side of the house. I think they probably need goodly ammounts of water, it rains here alot! ;-)
: It seems to me that they do really well in the autumn, becomming thicker and blooming right up to the first hard freeze- generally around December. I don't think the need any special fertilizing. you might want well drained soil.
: I have tried to feed nasturtiums to Iguansa and most recently Skippy my little russian tortoise. Neither on seemed to interested in them. If you think they are safe for PTS than I'll try them on Zeke.
: -Eric-

Have been growing nasturtiums for 3 yrs. by collecting the seed pods in Fall and resowing in Spring. The Brygoois love it,and the spiny turtle as well.
They can take over a garden, and are edible to us as well. they need just a bit of sun,but good watering.Hopefully the Russians will also like them,
as they are planted in their pen.Good Luck, they are quite easy to grow.
