that's what I have outside in his pen. You did say
OUTSIDE right?! Cause inside I just use Aspen bedding.

Outside he's got the "ground" that we've rolled
2 6 ft. pieces of centipede (for good footing) as
well as all around the back yard anyways.
I've grown some "grazing mix - grassland species"
for him from TurtleCafe in there. Also got
Hibiscus planted - 7 small, 2 large, and 2 geraniums,
and a giant flower pot turned on it's side buried
halfway and filled with topsoil (plain from the
topsoil pile by my house.)

You could use a mix of sand and topsoil, add some
flat stones, simple sticks (nothing they could climb
and fall off of), plants (even in pots still!),
and make it look natural. We planted some giant
grass tuffs for hiding too. I've also added 4
"butterfly bushes" around the outside of the pen
for decoration and , well, butterflies!

Heck you could even do like I did and add a roll
or square of grass sod, for footing. That way I
can walk around in there without trampling things.
We also added a patch of burmuda grass recently.

good luck, niki
