Scott, there are a number of worms/parasites that are directly transmittable from animals to humans. So, in other words, be careful and keep your enclosure and hands clean and stuff. If it makes you feel any better, I've worked with animals for over 15 years, and have worked at an animal hospital as a vet tech for over 5...I've had my hands in everything you can possibly imagine and I've never caught anything from an animal..not even ringworm (a fungus)!
