: I just got a Bells hingeback. his left front leg seems to be hurt and i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about this. I am going to take him to the vet asap. this leg just hangs at first when i pick him up after sleeping, but as he wals around it moves more and more.
: i also was wondering about getting soap on him. i know that it is bad for his eyes, but what about his body?

Hi, it could be a nutrition problem, lack of exercise , as stated in the previous posts, most hingebacks are wild caught and suffer horribly . Even before reaching the pet stores. Dont use soap, but keep it hydrated and make sure the vet does a fecal. Try to take in a fresh stool sample for testing. Parasites are a common cause of death in Hingebacks.
I'v linked the Tortoise Trust web site for you. You will find care info for Hingebacks , under Care Sheets. Hope all goes well. Terry.
