Dont use the pesticide. Get a bucket of boiling hot water, pour some liquid soap in it. Mix it around so the water looks a bit oily, pour it on the ant nest. The steaming hot water will kill them, the soap will make the water stick to them. Do this a couple of times, then rise the ground good with a hose after a couple of hours.
