Redfoot laying eggs one/two at a time

We observed many good copulations awhile back and provided a nice topsoil box in the room dedicated to our 2.1 redfoots. She has now dropped 1+2+1 eggs about 3-4 days apart each time just laying them on top of the cypress. No nesting behavior, but eggs appear fertile. No past experience with these or any other torts. Is this common? TIA
