They do need some humidity, meaning that damp not wet bed a beast is fine. The do come from the hot and dry Africa, but they tend to dig until they find moisture. I assume that they are adults, and they are probably wild caught. Anyway, bell's are ellusive by nature. The rescue organizations are being flooded with them. Mainly b/c of a certain corporate pet store that is selling them in mass quantities and the fact that many people think that they are "boring"; b/c they are shy. They just may need a little extra tlc and a good soaking 2x a week.
