Keep in mind that grasses and weeds are a more natural diet but I really doubt that many are providing the variety they get in the wild. The point is there is not a whole lot of difference between store bought greens and weeds. The important point is to provide as much fiber as possible. This can be done quite well with store bought greens and it is not 'wrong' to feed store bought greens, just different.

: I have had my two sulcats for two years now. I've always feed them store bought veggies. I just found out by reading the info on this forum that this is not what they should be eating. I just built an outdoor inclosure and am about to plant some tortoise grazing mix that I ordered for them. All I have right now in the pin is St. Augustine grass. My question is will a tortoise get spoiled on the store bought produce and not eat the stuff I grow? I put them out in there pin yesterday and they would not touch the St. Augustine grass. So I gave them some left over produce I had for them and they ate it all up. Should I starve them and make the eat the stuff that's growing in their cage or what. I need some advice. Sorry this is so long but any help is appreciated.
: Thanks,
: Derek
